Folders and sharing

The query list on the left of the workbench organizes your queries into folders and controls who can see each one.

Sections and visibility

The sidebar groups queries into sections: Organization, Personal, and (when relevant) Shared by me and Shared with me. A query's visibility is one of three levels:

  • Private. Only you can see and run it.
  • Organization. Everyone in the organization can view, run, and edit it.
  • Shared. Only the people you choose can see it, with the access you grant them (Can view & run, or Can edit).

Organize queries

  • New query. The + icon in the sidebar header or the tab bar.
  • Filter. The Filter queries… box narrows the list by name.
  • New folder. The folder icon on the Organization or Personal section header creates a folder (named New folder, which you can rename). Folders made under Organization are shared; under Personal they are yours.
  • Query menu. Hover a query and open its menu (or right-click) for Rename, Move to… (a submenu of folders, plus (No folder)), Duplicate, Share…, and Delete….
  • Move. Drag a query within the tree, or use Move to….

Share a saved query

The Share… menu item (and the toolbar's Copy a link to this query icon on a saved query) opens the sharing dialog. There you set the query's visibility and, for Shared, grant named people Can view & run or Can edit access. Sharing a query controls who can open the query; it is separate from secure share links, which send a frozen copy of a result to a recipient.

Rename, Move, and Delete on a query need edit access to it; Share needs share access (owner or admin).
